Question about shields.
I'm sure this has been asked about 651654565432165 times already, but I couldn't find an answer via the search option.
Is there an efficient way to level shields? When I'm wearing a shield, I only get half the SP, which means that doing Battlecraft leves for leveling up a class is pretty much useless. So it looks like my options are grinding and more grinding? Am I missing something?

If your shield rank is more than 5 ranks below or 10 ranks above the recommended level of the leve (ie: your shield is rank 9 and you are doing rank 20 leves) the SP reward for it gets reduced just like your normal class does if it's out of level range.
If you want to get your shield caught up, try leveling a mage class with a shield (assuming you haven't worked on a mage class yet). Barring that you can most likely just grit your teeth and bear it. Leveling up eventually slows down and that might give your shield rank a chance to catch up anyway.

I wouldn't worry about it - I never specifically did a single thing to level my shield skill, and had it at 47 when my GLA hit 50.
What do you mean when you say you get 'half the SP?' You should receive the same amount of sp for both your sword and shield skill when doing leves, not split between them.

Sorry, but I'm a little bit confused by your question. What makes you say that you're getting only half the SP while wearing a shield? Half compared to what?
And keep in mind that -- unlike weapons -- you can equip a shield when playing 3 classes: Gladiator, Thaumaturge, and Conjurer. So you can level shield while playing those other classes, too.
