Useless Dragoon lv56 + 58 skills? o__o

Hello!

I want to lv up Dragoon to lv60 (and also hoping Estinien coming back to Job-Quest story <,<; )

Im lv56 and got the skill "Fang and Claw". The lv58 skill "Wheeling Thrust" is nearly the same, the only difference is atk the target from behind.

Both skills has (just?)an atk potency of 290 and can be done as 4th atk of a combo.
Both raise the status "Blood of the Dragon" by 15secs

My Question is: why these 2 atks seems useless? o-o

I mean "Blood of the Dragon" has a CD of 1min, it only boost the 2 Jump atks. They have 30 and 60secs CD..
So why increasing the time for "Blood of the Dragon" with lv56+58 skills when both jump atks AND that skill has same CD? o-o

Isnt it more effecktive using the two 1-2-3 combo + atk buff instead?

Blood of the dragon Boosts jumps and trusts. No they aren't unless and really shine when u get the lvl 60 ability >_> "takes away asahina's DRG stone"

You keep BotD up for the 4th combo skills and Geirskogul, which you get at 60. They add something like 200 DPS on their own.

Our DRG is like "AWW MAN BLOOD OF THE DRAGON FELL OFF MY DPS IS GONNA BE SHIT", so I think maybe you should wait til 60 and then make assumptions.

It took me a while to figure out how to use the 56 and 58 skills. All you have to do is start Blood of The Dragon just before you complete either of your rotations because it works on both of them. Then once you rotation is finished, then you get to use the 56 or 58 (chosen at random) and it extends Blood of The Dragon by 15 more seconds, giving you a chance to do some DPS and status afflictions, as well as use your stat enhancers. You should make sure that you have Blood of The Dragon still has at least 10 seconds in order to do another rotation and then do your 56 or 58 again to extend Blood of the Dragon again and just repeat the process.

Well, before lvl60 and Geirskogul's 200 potency oGCD addition.. It's questionable, and my own testing hasn't really favored 100% sustained BotD.

(Again, non-60) Without Fracture, you'll be clipping HT by 3-5 seconds (1 wasted GCD) if you trying to sustain BotD. You're going from IDC, P, TTT, TTT all under HT to just IDC4, P, TTT4, - and adding more Heavy Thrusts to the overall encounter (the lowest potecy WS - 100/170 ). By your 3rd combo you've clipped 3 GCDs worth of Heavy Thrust - which is a full TTT or IDC combo.


From levels 51-58 I've had better resultings using BotD mostly as a second Power Surge - usually refreshing it so my second JUMP get's buffed with it, but after that - let it fall off. By the time BotD comes of CD at 60 seconds again so is POWER SURGE and JUMP. So just focusing on Jumps WSs

BotD > PS > JUMP
BotD > JUMP
BotD > PS > JUMP
BotD > JUMP
etc

TBH letting BotD fall off after the first JUMP may even be better or just as good. Losing the 290 of Wheeling/FangnClaw and the 60 of BotD'd JUMP (no PS) is bad, but from my results it's not really any worse of a loss than the addition of more HTs to your rotation, clipping of HTs, CTs, Phlebos, and losing 3 Chaos/FullTrusts BfBs - which is all required to maintain BoTD.

I've been alternating rotations methodically boss fights and such, but really the parses I'm seeing favor HT > IDC > P > TTT > TTT rotation over HT > IDC4 > P > TTT4. I'm sure this changes though once Geirskogul is added to the mix.

It is useless. It just add complexity for no reason. Remember both those skills will do the same amount of damage almost no matter what you do. When you get a new skill you expect yourself to get a skill which makes you stronger somehow but this one doesn't do that, when you get Wheeling Thrust you got no DPS boost just complexity for the class. The whole Blood of the Dragon mechanic is a fail and it feels janky as if it shouldn't be there. there are way too many mechanics where Blood of the Dragon falls of due to primals/bosses going away for almost all of the duration of blood of the dragon and doesn't allow you to set up a combo to continue the duration. If Blood of the Dragon was a permanent stance where there is no duration I believe this would be a awesome skill but as it stands now it is just annoying than anything else.

An example of why I hate Blood of the Dragon would be in A4 for example, your taken away the moment you are about to refresh Blood of the Dragon "oh wait sorry taking you away so you can't keep it up lolololol" Makes it worse that there is a 1 minute cooldown I mean why make it that long? what is the point?

Another example would be Ravana EX. The amount of times this boss jumps you will be losing it left right and center throughout the whole fight because of mechanics. I understand you are meant to work with the mechanics to try and keep the stance up lets be honest its not fun just annoying. Overall when you lose it just a big DPS loss. So far as people have said DRG "potentially" can be top dps if the boss is pretty much like a dummy (A4 boss) but in any of circumstances their not. Currently Dragoon just feels very complex for no reason and it doesn't feel very rewarding. Makes it worse that now these new skills are positional based in a boss like Ravana EX where he uses Seeing ??? DRGs could get a DPS loss if RNG isn't on your side which is just bad.

Now you do need both these skills in order to keep blood of the dragon up because it is a overall dps increase but there are many bosses at end-game which doesn't allow you to keep it up which I believe SE needs to change. I really wanted Blood of the Dragon to be OUR stance which we stay in the whole fight but no SE thought would be a good idea to make them keep it up with their dots, heavy thrust and now blood of the dragon and it almost no longer feels fun for the amount of things we need to do just to compete with the other DPS. I mean come on 100 potency for missing a 4th tier positional wth SE really what made you think that was a good idea with the amount of times bosses spin around =_=

Also Geirskogul is a good skill at level 60 which gives a DPS gain so wait till you get that skill until you make judges on the class just yet.

Not useless OP, learn your new rotation and use said rotation, it may require removing a combo but you only need 1 anyway.
