A few questions to DoL jobs

Pardon me if this was posted before. I used the search and found nothing on this topic.

So im getting low on gil and decided to level gathering. I have never crafted/gathered before in FFXIV and i did want to also try it but turned away by the complicity. Now im actually getting into it and was wondering a couple questions.

How long to raise a 24 miner, a 12 botanist and 12 fisher to 50 without leves. (I'm pretty much out after leveling my battle jobs to 60)

About 50 hours for the level 12s and say 40 for the 24?

What are good low level gathering materials to sell on the MB? (In general)

Should i focus one to 50 then do the next and then do the last Dol or level them at roughly the same pace?

Flax, Silver, Mythril. Those three things are used in the 51-60 recipes.

If you have room in your Armoury Chest, you can level them separately. This may actually be preferable, if you finish SB'ing your gear before replacing it, you can covert it to Materia and thus have some ready for when you hit 60 with the gathering classes. If space is a concern, however, level them together - you'll minimize the number of gear slots you need to take up.

As for how long, I haven't the foggiest. Its been ages since I took my gathering classes from 1 to 50, and I did it with leves.

Fisher is usually the fastest to level -- it was the first class I got to 50 (in order to unlock glamours), and it took me about... a week of casual fishing, say three hours per day? So about 21 hours (give or take). Of course, I did some of the leves (especially the ones that gave higher exp, or that were three handins in one leve), and the GC handins when I could, but even so, fish give crazy amounts of experience compared to botany/mining. (The only problem is that you have to have inventory space not only for the fishies but also for the bait >.<)

Don't forget the Grand Company turn-ins. They award like 10% of your level's EXP per day. If you hand in HQ items, you get 20%, if it's got a star, that's double the reward so 40% of a level in one day. Always check the Contents Info window in-game (they can be key-bound or access via the Main Menu).

Personally I leveled my BTN and MIN from 28~30 to 50 without any grinding. All I did was hand in what I have on-hand, and if I don't have them, go gather enough to hand in. When it's starred, though, I make sure to go and gather for HQ.

At level 30 level off of crystals. All new recipes need them.
