I got a question. Currently my weaver is lvl 59 and alchemy is 56 and i am currently still using fully meld artisian set with updated main hand and off hand. Today rowena scrip item are easy for me to made for the first time and i am wondering: Should get the scrip gear first or save the scipt for masterbook?
I'd use the scrip for the Master books.
Get Leatherworker up to 55 and you can craft the level 55 gear, HQ. That is easily much better than the fully-melded Artisan's gear, with one *very* notable problem : it has no CP. Meld 3 or 4 CP to each piece and you will not lose any CP, and will gain scads of Craft/Control.
Then use the Master books to make the level 60 crafter gear HQ.
if you want an esay to obtain cheap set get scrip but yeah really use them for books.
once you have weaver and leatherworker up youll craft better gear quite soon after anyways. don't bother with right side though if you had full melded bis from ARR as its not that good a gain unless you wanted to fully meld each replacement multiple times.
Actually, right side HQ gear, the highest level stuff, is an upgrade over the old 2.x BiS - in terms of CP. You'll need to stick a few Craftsmanship and Control materia on them to avoid losing those stats, if you had the old stuff max melded. But you do not need to max meld the new stuff, and the gains in Craftsmanship and Control from other slots more than make up for the losses here if you choose not to meld.
I got an easy turn in with culinarian so I just got the whole set and the books. While its necessary to have the set it was nice giving it to my other crafters as they hit 58 for that final push. Working on gathering books now. The grind never ends.
