Did 3.01 help you realize any performance gains in the OS X client?

I don't think it was a good idea for them to offer refunds so hastly. This on top of removing the digital download. Now there's a very small pool of people to get feedback from.

So I after the patch being applied, while running around the Goblet on my 2013 MBP, I was getting 19 FPS. Pretty much all effects disabled and running at 1650 x 1080 full screen.

refunds was a good idea

The refunds were offered because they didn't tell you that you needed late 2014-2015 hardware maxed out to actually get acceptable performance until after it went on sale.
