Disconnection and consequences

Hey guys,

I've been waiting for weeks to get my faction leves to pop a reward of the onion gear. Finally I got it to show up, after not collecting ANY faction leves for a week+ and just saving it. I got the gaskins.. SWEET!!! I know they are sort of useless, but collecting items is fun for me.

Low and behold I go out on the leve, first mob is about to die and I DC... shit, my gear is going to take a hit! Was my first reaction to the d/c. Then, while reconnecting I realized other forum posters complaints about this problem. I cam back online;

Lost 1,312 conj guildmarks (I am more casual so im still in the mid twenties.. this sucks for me)

Lost my Onion Gaskins reward ( I was waiting for weeks to get this on a level reward)

:( Just needed to vent. Why does D/Cing make me lose the leve entirely? At the very least we should be able to continue what we were doing.. since restarting might be a bit unfair. Damn you eorzea!!!

Oh yea, and my gear still took a hit, since the leve mob killed me before they decided to kick me off the leve.

Actually you can repeat that leve (with the same rewards) next reset. So long as you don't trade in the leve.

Example:
- You D/C and it's insta-fail
- Tomorrow guildleves reset
- You go up to the counter, chat with NPC so he resets your leves (DO NOT TRADE IN!!!)
- Open your journal, all "failed" leves have now reset with the same rewards as before
- Reattempt
- Enjoy

I was going to point out that you could re-attempt it next leve cycle.
Before 1.18 you used to be able to get good SP from leves by having everyone abandon the good SP ones on the last mob then reattempting them next cycle :P (used to be able to get 50k+ from the "big 3" at Broken Water in under an hour doing this.)

If you think that is bad, my linkshell was doing speed runs yesterday in darkhold. We got down to like 5% and everyone got destroyed by a laser beam except myself. I threw a disabling potion on it and took down the last sliver of health by myself, we completed within the time limit to get the speed run chest and everyone is all excited. Low and behold, the second the game goes into a cut scene the game kicks me out and leaves the rest of my party dead on the ground with no means of raising and getting to the clear chests within the 3 minute time allotment.

In all honesty I opened this thread half expecting it to be one of my linkshell members ranting about how crappy it was we lost out on the drops because of a DC.
