I'm considering a world transfer to Tonberry from NA server because NA players are terrible. I heard there is a restriction on gil that you can transfer with? any idea how much gil and any idea how to transfer more than the amount allowed? I have a little over 3M gil.
Is it fairly easy to find groups as English speaker playing at NA times? Thanks!
EDIT: also i have pretty good internet but is it pretty easy to ping to JP server from USA?
The gil restriction is 1m on your character and 100k per retainer.
You can always buy items that sells really well and sell them to your destination server.
It's really easy to find english players in Tonberry since most Asian and Oceanic countries play here. During weekends you'll see a lot of activity even on NA times but there's significantly less during the weekdays.
I'd recommend using a VPN software if you are planning to do it though so you'd get less latency
You can try WTF tunneling service to see if it is better but nonetheless if you are from US region the distance to JP servers is there, but no harm trying out.
However, EN speaking players on Tonberry operates mainly on Oceanic times. Raiders typically raids between 6pm-12midnight GMT+8 timezone with the DF still fairly active for dungeon/roulette queues up to 2am. This might be a problem for you since 6pm-12midnight our region is about 6am-12noon typically in the US.
If you're West Coast, moving here seems like a reasonable option. If you're East Coast, however, I'd strongly advise against it, even with good internet.

If you live in NA and want to play NA hours, an NA server truly makes the most sense. Perhaps browse Reddit / Lodestone FC advertisements and see if anything matches your interests.
