Unequipped item gone from inventory but search function says it is still equipped

Description of issue: I had an RP set equipped with the Black Summer Halter and the Black Summer Tanga. When I had re-equipped my normal gear set and later went to use my RP set again, I noticed the Black Summer Tanga had mysteriously disappeared. I checked through my armoury chest, inventory, all retainer tabs, and armoire and it is simply gone. When I check the Calamity Salvager, there is no option to purchase this as it can only be bought with the vouchers fro m the 90 day vet reward.

Interestingly, when I go to 'items for him', it will allow me to, if I wish, trade the Black Summer Halter for the male equivalent top, but the bottom is not available for trade because it acts as if the Tanga is not in my possession. I am 100% sure I did not sell / discard / trade this item in for seals. Furthermore, when I check the Calamity Salvager and right click the Black Summer Tanga and choose 'search for item', it shows that it is still equipped to my legs slot, but it is not.

TL;DR: The game incorrectly says the item is equipped to my legs slot, but it in fact no longer exists anywhere after changing gear sets.

As near as I can tell, this was due to changing gear sets from my RP set to my Astrologian set. I believe my armoury chest's legs tab was full at the time, which will generally produce an error, but I was able to change sets and thought nothing of it at the time. When I later searched for the item via the Calamity Salvager, I was informed that the item was equipped to my legs slot, but it is not. I have contacted GM support in game and they have advised me that this item restoration is beyond the scope of their support. There is no other way to obtain this item so it is impossible to reproduce the problem.

So bottom line I am now left without my veteran reward bikini bottom since the game somehow still thinks it is equipped, which is annoying since there is really nothing else with the same model/color at all, and there is no way to get it back or replace it and the GMs are unable to assist. What do? :(
