Botany: How to achieve 450 Collectability

Looking for some advice on how some of the Botanists here get 450 Collectability, I've been struggling to find a decent rotation for this based on my gear and level.

I'm a level 57 botanist with about ~430 perception, and about 560 GP.

Let's say I'm trying to harvest Cloud Bananas (L57) as a collectable. My goal is to harvest only ONE Cloud Banana with a collectability of 450.

My question is:

• What is the minimum required perception to do this?
• What is rotation that will most likely succeed to achieve that goal?

Right now I'm using FFXIVguild's BTN guide, which recommends I use:
Discerning Eye -> Methodical x2 -> Utmost Caution -> Methodical x2

(Which I've tried, but I'm about 50 short of the collectability goal).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Basically .. if Discerning Eye, Methodical, Discerning Eye, Methodical, Discerning Eye, Methodical does not cut it ... you are not likely going to be able to do it. That setup there gets you 450%, with two collection swings left.

Discerning Eye, Methodical, Discerning Eye, Methodical, Utmost Caution, Methodical, Utmost Caution, Methodical gets you 500% with one collection swing left.

Discerning Eye, Utmost Caution, Methodical, Discerning Eye, Utmost Caution, Methodical, Methodical, Methodical gets you the exact same place.

Discerning Eye, Utmost Caution, Instinctual, Discerning Eye, Utmost Caution, Instinctual, Methodical gets you anywhere 120-225 per Instinctual, for 240-450, plus 100 for the Methodical. Potentially the strongest routine you can do, really, and it gets you two collecting swings ... but relies heavily upon the RNG.

If you do not mind going over the 30 Wear "limit" you can always try Single Mind, Methodical, Single Mind, Methodical, Single Mind, Methodical, Methodical, Methodical, Methodical, Methodical. That would be 700% but leave you with a rather low chance of actually grabbing the item.

ALL of the things I've put forth here were based on having 600 GP, however. I'd strongly suggest that, if possible, you get more GP. I'm at 582 GP myself, I have to use food to reach the 600 mark - though I'd be better off with Perception food rather than GP food, you need to reach the 600 mark for most things that anyone would suggest.

Better off keep leveling and gear up to collect more than just one per node later

Otherwise only way is to gamble

Impulsive (has to proc.) -> Methodical -> Discerning - > Utmost -> Methodical -> Discerning - > Utmost -> Methodical
(total 5.85)

Up now I'm using
Single mind -> Impulsive -> Utmost caution -> Impulsive* -> Utmost caution -> Impulsive* -> Utmost caution -> Impulsive* -> Utmost caution -> Methodical

Changing after the 1st Impulsive any Impulsive with Methodical if the previous one had a Discerning eye proc.
After depending on your gear you will be able to skip last Apprisal or use an Instinctual rather than a Methodical after a proc.
You will need 600 GP.

Remember also that the Impulsive and Methodical apprisal has no RNG involved, so math and a calculator can really help you :P
A discerning Eye proc will give you a x 1.5 multiplier bonus.
If you "gather an hq" during an apprisal you will get a x 1.5 bonus too.

You will need around 500 perception to get the 450 rarity~ you are after. As well as 600~ GP. The guides dont mention perception requirements.
I will check ingame for a more specific account of the number needed.

Tested on the bananas:
482 Perception lets your meth hit for 94. Using

I will run another test or two to see how much perception adds to meth hits.

perception 500 = 102 meth hit
perception 482 = 94 meth hit
perception 462 = 87 meth hit



Assuming its linear, you would need 500< perception for the first rotation to work, and 470~ perception for the second rotation to work.
Ofcourse, for either one you will need to have 600GP.

Meld your gear.

I am miner and botanist 53 and still dressed in 2.55 BIS fully melded.

So far it looks like this set will hold me until at least L 55. 633 GPs, Gathering 492, perception 468. Melding pays off.

Secondary now secondary tool HQ are really useful, even the lv 53 ones crafted HQ, they give a good stat boost compared to other gear piece and are easy-craftable.

591 perception
(utmost + single mind + method) x 2 + Method x 2 = 460 x 3 hits

I have 518 Gathering
500 Perception
601 GP
Discerning eye, methodical appraisal, Discerning eye, methodical appraisal, Discerning eye, methodical appraisal, 2 Collects
Gets me 392 Collectability
Anyone know why?
could really use a simple laymans term solution please
