Any consensus on the use of deliverance?

Howdy! I main a WHM. A little while back I decided to build a tank spec just to experience groups from the tank\\'s perspective. I ended up picking WAR and its a lot of fun.

After the release of HW, I quickly pushed WHM to 60, and now WAR will slowly but surely get there as well. With WHM, nothing really drastically changed from 50 to 60.... but the VERY 1ST WAR skill, deliverance, seems like a game changer. At first it seemed like just a dps stance, but then the stacks were converted when the stance changed...

Any thoughts from more experienced tank\\'s as to how this skill should be used? Should WARs be stance dancing, or only activate deliverance when someone else is tanking?

Side note: I was hoping that as a healer I could just watch what good WARs do in duty finder..... But unfortunately it\\'s been a pretty rare occurrence to be paired with a WAR. The queues seem flooded with pallys and dark knights.

It hasn't changed much since the days of when all you had was toggling Defiance on/off. You should be stance dancing in a way that's appropriate to the encounter you're in and your gear level. Switch to Deliverance during periods of low, controlled damage, and switch to Defiance during periods of high or spike damage. As your gear improves, you can play it more dangerously in at times where you otherwise would have switched back to Defiance immediately.

Judge your healers, on large pulls can pop CD and decimate x2 with zerk on. On boss fights I'm on deliverance. Fell cleave right after BB hits while on zerk and stay on dps stance till boss dies. U can switch to defianc+ equilibrium than back dps if healer struggling. Keep some sort of CD going. Raid and EX will work different, more manage cds.

Deliverance is a godsend in 8 mans. Something like BisEX that requires you to do as much DPS as fast as possible, you can switch over to Deliverance to help the DPS while you're not actively holding a bird. In The Singularity Reactor, since it's a single tank fight, you can have the WAR drop into Deliverance, put on STR accessories, and go ham on the boss.

Even 4 mans have a place for Deliverance. The final bosses in the Vault and Neverreap summon adds to be killed, while they're invulnerable. Pop on Deliverance, obliterate adds, switch back over to Defiance to hold the boss. You can even use Equilibrium to give yourself back the HP you lose by switching over, so your healer doesn't have to worry about it.

Aside from the two dragonish type adds, im in deliverance the entire time in Bismark

Use at your own discretion but make sure you are working with your healers and DPS. Primarily your role is to hold hate and stay alive. You have to remember that if you're significantly trading the bonus healing for DPS your healer may actually have been able to DPS more to make up the difference or the DPS could have went harder without pulling hate. Be aware of these things and as people say use your CDs to this advantage.

I like to use it when bosses don't do too much damage or when I have appropriate cooldows available. Berserk + Bloodbath + Deliverance + Overpower Spam = A lot of damage and a lot of health recovery versus big packs of monsters.

I also use it versus 2 or less mobs in dungeons once I have enough threat built up.

Yup, with cleaves thrown in aggro is generally ok. Really comes down to heals being ok, and if you need steel cyclone at all. Bis ex is deliverance most if not all (of what I have done so far anyway) and normally most of the dungeon boss fights.
