So I thought this limit break was a heal, that is what I read....well in Haukke Manor today we were getting smacked a bit at the end , the healer was down to 25% health, as was the tank, so I cast this and we made it through.
The other dps told me I wasted the limit break, that I only hit one mob? Could have hit the boss and all mobs.
Anyone?
BRD LB WAS a heal. After patch 3.0, it's been changed to an AoE damaging LB, so wherever you read that, it's probably outdated.
The limit breaks changed with 3.0. Non-Magic Ranged like Bard now has a straight line aoe limit break. Melee all have single target. Tanks have defense boosting, healers have healing, magic dps have magic aoe.
Gah.
So what is the best application for the BRD lb then? So I don't look like an idiot again lol.
It's situational, depends on what other classes present plus whether the boss is alone and/or have adds remaining etc. Some other DPS classes LB may be better in specific situations or yours may be better suited depending on who's in the group and who's still alive when need to use it.
The new bard LB is a straight line between you and your target.
It will hit everything that is on that line.
So the best you can do is position yourself in such way that you hit as many mobs as possible and pick the farthest target.
Generally speaking, melee DPS has priority on a limit break, because it's single-target but does more damage to that target.
That said, if you're in a fight like Haukke's last boss, and the boss and her adds are grouped together? Hit that button.
