Will Materia be visible on gear?

I thought this would be kind of a neat thing to see. Maybe like a small jewel on the hilt of a sword or something like that.

I dont know that for sure.. but according to the Picture they posted in the Materia-Letter i would assume that and i guess it would be a nice thing.

I also agree, it looks doubtful but it would be a nice addition. I'm not going to hold my breath but if it shows up then I'll be pleasantly surprised. I mean some gear like rings already has the detail of changing based on the gem inside. It would be a lot more difficult for them to do this with materia though considering the sheer number of variables to consider.

Yeah I would agree on the "doubtful" Just thinking that if a lot of players liked the idea and it was something SE could implement without a ton of difficulty we might get it. /em crosses his fingers. XD

You wont be able to attach Materia to Stuff like Rings anyways.

I would think no. they would have to go back a remodel all the weapons and armor with every possible combo.

What I meant is, depending on what gem is in a given ring, the color changes on the ring model. However there are comparatively few ring gems compared to materia so it was viable for them to do so.

I'm no 3D modelling expert or anything, but I imagine it wouldn't be impossible for them to add another layer onto the gear for materia. However that's still a ton of work for such a small detail half the community won't even notice.
