Astrologian: How did you remember which card is which?

Okay, semi humor thread here.

Everyone in this LS I'm in has a different "joke" about how they* remembered which card is which.

There's one who claims he remembers them by color. LIES (Even though I wish the cards were rainbow then I'd remember which is which easier!)

Then there is someone who actually has a notepad out during runs so he can remember this card = what.

Then I remember that OH THE TREE IS BOLE.

So what's your story?
Is there anyone who is bad like us? ;( lol

I remembered them by color and name.
There's only 1 orange card and 1 green card so those were easy to memorize, the rest were by name.
I had the most trouble differentiating arrow and spear.

I see the name when drawing, so it's just a matter of remembering the use for each. The rest will follow.

You know how when you start to type on a keyboard and you don't really know the positions of the letters, but after you start using it you get more used to it and can type faster? The more you use the card the more you'll memorize it.

But like if you're not playing Astro then um, yeah I dunno git gud.

When I first started playing I knew which cards I was drawing cause it says the name of the card when you draw it on the screen. It only took an hour of playing to figure out which card had which effect, so when I saw the name I knew which it was. Eventually I just memorized how they look too. Now I can just quickly glance at the buff bar/health bars and know who has what.

Before early access started I drew up a cheat sheet which I could glance down at after the card draw animation went off. Helped a lot :D Now I know them by heart!

Fire is usually the element associated with offense (damage), while Earth is the element associated with defense (damage reduction). Wind is fast (attack/cast/AA speed), Ice is cold ("cooldowns")... and then Water is for MP and Thunder is for TP.


And as for Royal Road effects:

You usually want as much damage and defense as possible (boosted potency), lower MP and TP costs keep you going longer (extended duration), and everyone wants Haste and shorter cooldowns (AoE effect).

Bole (tree) = strong/ sturdy def
Balanced (sun) = strong/ solar "power"
Spear ( snowflake) = sacrifice for aoe , * barely use it as it seems too weak without enhanced buff.
Arrow ( wind ) = sure y not use for mini huton aoe
Ewer ( water vase?) = save for myself or healer cuz we thirsty for mp or sacrifice.
Spire ( thunder) = zap zap here u go u dps now mash those buttons faster cuz tp.
