Thought : Change class reqs for older gear (Glamour)

I personally think it would be a great idea to change some of the dated gear from being class restricted on glamour. Make it so all cloth types can at least glamour older cloth gear, leather wearers can cross glamour and so forth. Heavy armor can already (for the most part) cross glamour pieces.

*This would not extend to AF pieces, for obvious reasons.

Obviously not saying to change it all, but a good example could be the Cashmere Robe of Healing. If you're a BLM or SMN you only have the option to glamour the Acolyte Robe, which isn't even dyeable.

This would give people so many more options than what they have now, while still keeping in line with lore/logic of the game.

Does anyone else feel this could be a positive for the game?

If I remember well Yoshida said he did not want class to wear other class stuff because we "could have difficulties to recognize the job" and that he wanted to keep a certain "harmony" (but honestly......... does wearing a swimsuit while tanking really is ok then...?)

Sure, being able to wear "all cloth things" as a Mage class would be less shocking.

That is how I felt as well. Especially with the fact that it would keep the armor to the same armor class.

The job point is rather shot it this point with the statement you made. The only real thing differentiating jobs at this point is their weapons, and their artifact gear.

This could add some fun to the rp community, like a paladin wearing a robe and pointy hat like a mage, and making a story about it. But i'd love if they would let my hyur wear several miqote's style clothes and such.

Yeah, that argument he used is horsesh*t. I mean, you can wear the coliseum galerus or the tafetta set on any job, rendering that argument entirely moot.

I hate that they still haven't relaxed those dumb restrictions. They're complete nonsense.

I mean yes -that- would add some interesting times as well, however that really wasn't what I was going for. I was more or less going for the casters in general can glamour the same gear, and as for melee (leather) can glamour each others as well. Granted with the current dress glamour options that are available now, paladins already exist with robes.

Precisely, and all I'm really mentioning is only make it so we can glamour it. The class -wearing- restriction could still stand.

i think it should still stand, but the requirements should be lifted a bit. instead of locking it to jobs the restriction should be set to "disciple of war" and "disciple of magic"

and consolidate all the bloody glamour crystals. why do we need 30+ different ones to do the same damn thing?!?

If you need to know what job someone is, look at their icon in party list.

I thought about wording it that way, but that would open up plate to NIN/MNK/BRD. So if they really are that worried about keeping class identification in place it wouldn't work.
