Level 50 may need to be changed

It drags on... and on... and on.

I'm a new player. I purchased Heavensward shortly after making level 50 and was looking forward to it. Then I discovered that I'm a long way from being able to set foot inside the new zones.

Level 50 is too monotonous. I've done 4 out of the 5 chapters of main story line quests, several level 50 dungeons, several level 50 trials, and I'm still level 50 many days later. I've got one more long drawn out chapter's worth of main story-line quests to go. Even before the storyline EXP boost that came with Heavensward, I could still have leveled many times with the amount of work I've spent grinding away towards the privilege of going to the new world...

Constructively, this is too much. New players are going to get frustrated. My wife isn't even level 50 yet and she's getting frustrated watching me because she knows that soon she'll have to endure the very same thing. Why isn't there a way to circumvent all of this?

I'm tempted to quit... to find another game... all because of level 50. Being Alphinanud's trophy celebrity as he sends me to each city and back again to speak with dignitaries that accomplishes little more than nothing is no way to spend my days with the power my Black Mage possesses. These quests are dull and lifeless and unlike when they were written, level 50 isn't the max. I've got better things that I could be doing. These quests should not be mandatory.

The 2.0 lvl 50 content is not enjoyable? =/
I'm trying not to out-level the 2.0 content so fast and render them trivial because of 3.0 increased level cap =x

Jokingly - you may want to blame the QQ-ers back in 2.0 who complained that there wasn't enough content/quests/trials at lvl50.

The reason you're not enjoying yourself as you rush through the level 50 MSQ is because...you're rushing through it. Take your time. Enjoy the content you're playing.

Don't just rush to the endgame. This game isn't designed for that.

The need to complete the story up to patch 2.55 before accessing Ishgard is not a design flaw, but intention. I hate to say it, but if you're one of those people that live only for endgame content and tend to just rush leveling content, then this game will be endlessly frustrating to you.

Unfortunately, if you don't like stories and to take time enjoying the experience then the game is definitely not for you. Every quest in the game is there for a reason. It could be argued that some of the side quests are just fluff but even they often offer up interesting lore snippets.

It's never going to change, not with 2.x, nor 3.x, nor in the future. If they did it's likely a lot of people would find it boring as the entire premise of Final Fantasy is to tell a story.

There is no way to circumvent this because it wouldn't make any sense at all lore wise. The story explains thoroughly why you can't go to Ishgard before a certain point in the story.
On top of that: it was announced several months in advance that you'll need to have the storyline completed to go to the new areas.

I'm sorry your frustrated but that is how this is its not only to understand the story but it's also a gate to stop rmts going to the new areas.

So far IV yet to get a single rmt tell in game its so wonderful.

OP is a new player. Even though this is the case, it hardly makes a difference for people who weren't around and level 50 before Heavensward.

Lucky. I've ignored around 40 RMT characters since the expansion released. It was quiet for a few days, during Early Access, but that didn't last.

Even so, I'm just thankful that the number of RMT tells I'm getting is much reduced, and I've yet to get a single RMT friend request since the expansion.

I've read similar threads on this concern and as a new player myself, the thought of wading through all those MSQ just to see the expansion is daunting.

The issue is, you shouldn't see it as wading through, like unblocking a toilet. It's an experience in itself that just happens to unlock Heavensward. You're seriously missing out if you don't just take it easy and enjoy the fascinating story that is ARR.
