Something as simple as a stance to swap from piercing to blunt damage. This hardly effects gameplay at all, would mainly be something down out of battle, but allows machinist to deal max damage as long as there is a monk or DRG in the party, rather than just DRG. I think this will go a long way in quelling a lot of the complaints.

People aren't complaining because they can't reach max damage if a certain other player isn't in the party, they're complaining because the max damage is lower than every other class other than BRD. In practice, this doesn't matter as much because most of the players you'll see in the DF can't reach the max damage of a level 50 class with their level 60 ones, but it's more about the principle of the matter, as well as for when players form static groups for raid content. I personally don't have a problem with MCH as is, and I love the class, but at the same time, if all the complaining causes a bump in in potency or other buffs to the class, then I won't complain so long as they don't change the mechanics of how the class works......Quote:

I should've been a little more clear. It wouldn't quell every complaint but it's a small step in the right direction. It would be neat for them to be the only class that can output their best potential regardless of party composition since almost every party has a monk or dragoon.

Most of what I see in parties are BLM, SMN, NIN, and BRD. It may be different on other data centers, but the MNK and DRG population for my runs seem to be particularly low. And even then, if I do see one, it's almost always a DRG and not a MNK.....Quote:

07-02-2015, 05:28 AMGamer3427It's partly the class, but mostly the laziness. Most people don't try when they're in DF group, or in general from what I've seen. I've noticed a couple of times when SCHs and WHMs not in Cleric Stance were out DPSing the other DPS in the party. As a MCH though, I've never been out DPSed by a tank in my runs, and only once or twice by other DPS classes. I'm not saying the low DPS claims aren't founded, just that in practice, a person playing MCH can easily put out just as much if not more DPS than your average player in the DF, due to the sheer amount of unskilled or lazy players that you find in there. It sounds to me like you just haven't played with any that were actually trying.....Quote:
