Personal notes on maps?
Proposal: custom overlay layers for each of the maps on which we can click and enter text that would appear as either pins with mouseover-tooltip showing the text, or as permanent text that appears together with certain region names. The data can be stored client-side, so absolutely no server resources needed.
For example, I can have a layer for mob hunt target positions. A layer for gathering nodes. A layer for FATEs. A layer for special happenings that I just want to remember..
Motivation:- Daily mob hunts are expanded to at most 15 different targets per day. In the end we are going to resort to 3rd party map sites that label all the targets (such maps already exist). Why not let us make notes ourselves to improve immersion?
- Map as a progression device. As we play we can easily accumulate annotations that make the map "personal". It improves our attachment to the character and the game. Think of such a mechanism as a blogging platform. People who aren't savvy with image editing and document publishing can now have their own little map database in-game.

Yes, I agree with this. I am keeping a notebook currently so that daily I don't have to search all over again for a mob I have already found. I would love to have notes on my map...Please SE make this happen some day for us, this would be sooooo cool.

Another of those ideas that would be wonderful, so personally I would love to see it implemented...
Except it's another one of those ideas that I'm sure would severely increase character data sizes. And SE already seems to be having issues with that. :/
BTW hunt marks - just saw this a few minutes ago.

They actually had this in XI

I'm all for this but it was asked a long time ago and got a Dev response something along the lines of "well we will just make more in game markers so there will be no need for personal ones"
