So after reading through quite a few posts about Astrologian being weak i started to wonder to myself, Why do people think this class is weak.
To be Completely Honest, I Love having Astrologian in the group in End-game.

Astrologian is underrated at the moment, I strongly feel that whenever I am duo healing with them in any content that they are holding their end just as strongly as a WHM would be.
Arguably how much work does it take to get there? I don't know. But it feels the same when I heal with an AST.
Ravana EX is a joke from a HPS perspective. The damage only ever gets high if people mess up, in which case it does get high. Sure you have some Atma Linga spam going on after the Final Liberation (if you even get to see all of it), but nothing too bad. Good job overall, though.
Also, just to point it out - not hating and I also don't think AST is overly underpowered. It could use some tweaks and fixes, but it's not in a terrible shape like MCH.
No offense but pretty much much what Tranquil said , ravana is a joke to heal.
If you really want to see how "viable" ast is go into t13 ilvlsync disable echo and solo heal it, nice job nevertheless.
It's not weak - MCH is weak.
It's just... not as good. There's not really any reason to take something other than WHM+SCH into a serious raid environment.
I don't think Ast is weak, maybe not as good as other classes for now but definitely not world apart or horribly broken like some people here exaggerated. Moreover, with all those new systems, i believe it can be VASTLY improved with some tweaks here and there. Now I just hope SE won't overbuff it too much though, or people will whine again.
This player had a competent team that understood the fight and as many have said this fight doesn't require any of the "oh shit" buttons that WHM and SCH have.
We've got 2 useless emergenacies atm, horrible mana management when the extra healing is required because of the low potency of our abilities, and the cards aren't worth it for our weak heals.
I wish they had made the class similar to EQ2's Inquisitor with reactive heals, but instead they gave us crappy heal versions of the other 2 classes. That way they wouldn't of gimped it.
Long story short, class is under powered but is still playable. However it is still outshined by the other 2 classes.
The main issue I see with AST that makes it weak is the fact that their buffs are based purely on RNG, the same RNG people have spent 2 years complaining about. I can go to a mining node with a 96% chance to get something and fail 4 times in a row because "RNG", and that same system is driving the AST buffs.
Unfortunately nothing you say can turn the bandwagon of "astro sucks" on this forum. Solo healing any ex has always been rough, acting like its easy is just ridiculous. I'll wait for the videos of the users above to show their solo heal run.
If you have a good static group for the upcoming Alex savage, there will be no need for a whm. If you are trying to clear it with randoms whm/sch would probably be better.
No one will believe this until we prove it, so will just have to wait.
Solo healing an EX Primal (which all healers can do, and the others most likely far easier than an AST) should not be used as a means to take away from the fact that AST still has problems, especially in their cards, that -need- help.
And good look doing this outside of a static as an AST.
