Astrologian - Does Race Matter?

I figured out that I needed to make a Conjurer, but does the race matter if you want to be an Astrologian when you make your job choice? I would hate to get to 20 and find out I picked the wrong one to be an AST. I couldn't find any mention of this on the FFXIV website. Thanks for your help.

You need to be lvl 50 and must have finished all the ARR main quest for unlock the Extra jobs.

If you level up a conjurer, you going to be a white mage, not ast. But I suggest to stay with this idea anyway, you will learn how to heal then.

race if very minimum stats... so just play whatever race you want

This has been debated some bit in previous threads. The general consensus is that race does not matter.

At most, it is a difference of 5 points, which at endgame is less than 1% difference. Your primary attribute is literally 600 or higher.

It may matter to obsessive min/max-ers (who simply need the highest attribute scores because of "reasons"), but it has no effect on endgame raids.
