Rapid Fire not working with Gauss Barrel.

Would it be possible to get some confirmation whether or not this was intentional:-An issue wherein the black mage action “Ley Lines” and machinist action “Rapid Fire” would affect the cast times for actions such as “Teleport” and “Return”.

I adored the Gauss Barrel stance toggle and I am honestly heartbroken that it was removed. Machinist dps is getting a bad reputation already I don't believe they deserved to see such a massive play style change. If anyone doesn't know what I am referring to it was better dps to pull without barrel, toss it on with rapid fire instant cast use all your Cool-downs with the additional 20% then remove the barrel to auto attack until the next rapid fire in your rotation. Now we stand there casting barrel with all of our Buffs ticking down, a massive hit to our dps but more importantly the enjoyment and complexity of the Job.

TLDr; Machinist was crazy fun because of Gauss Barrel now its not enjoyable and it has lower dps than before the hotfix.

Literally just jump off the class, I am not going to beat around the bush. It is a sinking ship and maybe when they see fewer players playing it they will realize the incredible amount of buffs it needs.

Anyone telling you otherwise is doing you a disservice, just level another job and play and have fun until there are major changes made to the machinist. At present it looks like they will be subpar for months. And by that time you can farm up gear for a PROPER and buffed machinist then.

***Note strongly: And this is coming from me who was one of the first level 50 machinists after pre-release I was so excited for it. I am far from biased against machinist, rather I want to see it become viable.

its my 60 and best geared, I have several 180 pieces including weapon...I too am jumping ship, its just depressing...Im having an issue finding what I actually want to level though.

I hear ya Mr.Smiley, nothing really compares to the falvor of MCH for me. Probably go with a tank or healer for the quick dungeon queue times and just dungeon grind my way to the top after 50. Still going to trudge on though.

I don't plan on giving up on Machinist yet but I am very interested to hear what SE has planned for Gauss Barrel in the future, its kind of sad that auto attacks beat out both ricochet and Gauss round. and currently our 52, 54, and 60 skills are only used on pull or if the encounter permits you to stand still for 3 seconds while the boss is invulnerable, and even then it might not be worth it depending on which Cool-downs are available. Who hit level 60 and when doesn't really matter, nor does your gear .I am talking about the play style and recent changes to our job not your character.

Yeah, was in the process of leveling MCH but now I'm jumping ship to level AST (still a lolJob but less of a lolJob than MCH).

At least until MCH is fixed.

It's interesting that people feel Machinist needs some help [Bard too it seems, but we're talking MCH here], yet they felt the need to "fix" this know people would hate it even more. I'm really curious as to what they have in store for Machinist after Alexander.

I would say MCH should be shooting itself in the head at this point but we do so little damage it would likely go unnoticed.

Remove ability to cross class blood for blood and raging strikes, as well as lower the probability of the 1-2-3 combo to 20% and 20%.

Oh and now their turrets only have 20 potency each.

Obviously I am not a huge fan of the machinist changes either but this thread wasn't supposed to be a hate train, there are lots of "Rip machinist" threads all over the forum I would prefer if people offered suggestions or constructive feedback on what can be done from here, whether it be a flat damage % increase to Gauss barrel to make up for the lost auto attacks, or simply rework Rapid fire to work with Gauss Barrel only. There are many adjustments that can be done to salvage the job and I would like this thread to offer some information and insight from Machinists who actually understand how the barrel works and not just people complaining about it when they are not even level 60 machinist.
