WM/Gauss
Cause we need another thread till Square says something.
Basically Posts on reddit confirming that Gauss/WM should be basically turned off in actual fights. leaving them on where you need to be mobile is a huge dps lost outside the opener/burst.
As well as MCH depending heavily on RNG god to not let them split shot 6+ times without a single proc.
I hate Leveling so I am sadly gonna stick it out with my mch(till i gear it out) cause I do like how the class is played but with how things are I wouldn't take either brd/mch into alex unless I knew if I am gonna need a tp or mp regen.
As it stands for the rest of the debuffs/buffs the mch bring they are pretty sad 5% really square?
And to top it off whitemage/scholar/DRK/WAR all can outdps them both
There are already some great talk on changes in that other thread. My thoughts is one Give Gauss and WM back Auto attacks and no cast timer and probably another 10% boost and hot shot and those other abitlies up to 10%

Bard at present will be taken over machinist, that's what the incredible majority of static groups are already forming. MCH has been left out in favor of bard.
Bard's manasong will never go out of style, so long as white mages need to heal a fight.
But Bards > MCH so they take priority.

As a Bard turned Machinist (not because of WM woes, but because I was excited to try the new ranged physical job) and a pretty avid raider, I consider this a challenge accepted. I've done a great many things others said I couldn't do as a Bard before. I'll take on the challenge of raiding as a Machinist and see how it goes.

Giving hot shot 10% damage does not fix the issue with gauss barrel, it will just make gauss barrel even more useless by boosting auto attack damage. Having auto attacks while under the effect of WM or Gauss defeats the purpose of the stance, so no thank you. Give gauss and WM 30% dmg up and call it a day.

Posting this from another thread, but...
If WM/GB didn't disable autos it would be fine. The cast timer is more than enough to limit mobility for the damage tradeoff. Not like either class is close to mnk/drg/blm damage wise for this to be an overpowered buff. Remove the cast timer but add a cool down on the stance so that we can trade mobility for damage at a whim, but still dealing with consequences if we change stance at a wrong time.
