Now, on a serious note, it's first time I see one of the main races being barefoot, if anything. (Succubus doesn't count). I still wondering why can't we be barefoot with our summer costumes in Mist? And in the water? Or in our beds with /doze, just like the sultana?

Or perhaps this is a good signal beacon of our beloved sultana saying we might be able to finally get so in the future? (Admit it's one of most weird aspects that the game stills having, forcing our character to always wear something, it shocked me from the very first moment when I noticed that without shoes my character was actually wearing something?... )

We defeated the evil wyrm who forced us to wear them, Nidhogg! (?) So our curse should be no more!

Side note 2: Do it for the sultana at least, the list of exclussive things she's having only grows, and so our envy!... Now not only exclussive hair style but also exclussive supreme power to remove the magical sandals.

Side note 3: And I'm very happy and hyped with Heavensward, nice work!!... To think that such a mega expansion, such an amount of cntent, and almost no buggs and everything cared to detail... If it wouldn't have "The Hunt" added to it this would be just perfect.

It will interest you to know that after the cutscene you mention there's an even more evident proof that the models are there.

If I recall correctly, our models are all synced up based on our heights. Without the sandals, we'd all be floating in the air since they refuse to make us shorter while barefoot as that would require two times the amount of character data in the game. So, no the sandals will stay on ever more and the only reason that video showed it off was there was no need to have a "world model" of her actually walking

The two specific characters you see barefoot, had to have their feet models changed to accommodate this.

A better thing to point out is that the NPC's themselves are unique models that otherwise share the same animation sets as the playable characters of their race.

Now reaching to certain parts of story and having finished it I noticed what some of you dudes meant!

Y'shtola also appears barefoot in some scenes after taking her back from the lifestream! So the models are there, it's something, maybe we have it someday for our characters?

I really hope that, if this is the reason they are doing it, they consider changing, since... It's a bit, kind of... Lazy? To do it just because can't adjust height of characters and let us with weird sandals wherever our characters should be barefoot.

PS: A floating bug would be appreciated too! x'3

While that is entirely possible, from a 3D modelers point of view, it is faster to simply provide the characters with unique feet meshes, rather than redo the entire body model itself.
