Expansion and Gear

I'm posting here even though I've played quite a bit because I'm a bit confused about how gear progression goes for the expansion.

For what it's worth, my main job is Summoner, and I have Augmented Ironworks right-side gear, the i120 Demon caster set (minus the hat, which is the i110 Evenstar Hat), and I'm using (and working on) my Veil of Wiyu Animus.

I've done some looking around at Ishgard and the i115 gear in shops is apparently weaker for me, and even the gear from story quests is just a bit under, so far.

Yet I went out to Coerthas Western Highlands noticed that all the mobs were much beefier than anything from 2.0. While I'm not dying or anything so far, and I haven't reached the point my first Heavensward dungeon, I'm a little confused if I'm getting out of my range here. I just barely dinged lvl 51, so I don't know if there's any higher gear for me to wear yet.

So, are the mobs just tougher, or am I weaker?

ilvl130 gear is good till about 55, then replacements may start coming in (though depending might not till lvl 57).

For your i120 gear, you will start replacing it soon. For the mobs, they are tougher as the overworld for Heavensward is supposed to be tougher than ARR's. Eventually you will outgear it again and it won't be that bad.

54-58 gear most people use to replace thier 130.. im still using my zeta tho cause havent come across a bow better yet :( guess ill wait til the 180 ilvl 1 lol
