Elemental Ethers

So I performed a test to see what are the relationship between my Elemental Affinity and the elemental counterparts of the ether.
Result I got is frustrating...

First, my affinity points:
Fire, ICE: 114
Wind: 35

I used fire ether when I start the test, 40mp
I was thinking, perhaps the mp gain is related to strength and weakness of elementals..
So I tried ice ether, as it beats wind, my worst affinity point, and it gives me 40mp
Lastly, I used a wind ether, hoping it works in a reverse way that I got the most mp gain by having a low point invested... and 40mp as well.

Any thoughts?
If anyone is able to get more than 40mp with the elemental ethers..
please share what you know :(
