Final Fantasy XIV has stopped working...

been like this for the last 8 hours now. I barely get to the loading screen after logging in, or it doesn't even get to the main menu, and it crashes on me. I can't get into the game, yet everyone else is able to as well.

I'm not so much concerned with server queues, as I'm not even getting that far...the game won't work for me, and I'm afraid of uninstalling it again. :(

Has anyone had these issues, but were able to fix them?

edit: if I uninstall, I'd lose my pre-order bonuses wouldn't I? :(

Are you using the dx 11 client per chance? I was having the same issues, to the point that my computer crashed, changed to dx9 and magically all the problems were fixed....

Try changing back to dx9.

I had it on 9 at first, and it crashed. Changed it to 11, and it crashed. Changed it back to 9, and it still crashes...dx is up to date, so I dunno what to do right now. :|

Have you tried updating your video drivers and doing a clean install of them? Do you have programs running in the background? I go down to the bare minimum when I'm playing. and I mean nothing at all running along with the game. Sound drivers too can cause issues, try updating those too. And temps how are those?

hmm...I thought it was up to date, but I'll try again. I'll edit this post, when I try playing. hopefully I can get in, to at least get my items from the mail. I'd rather not have them deleted, from uninstalling/reinstalling the game, as that's my absolute last resort. :|

edit: nope. didn't even get to log into the launcher, and it crashed. :(

edit: I put a ticket in, asking about this...I also asked if it was possible to recover unclaimed items lost in the mail, due to uninstalling the game.

edit: YES! got in! just had to uninstall and reinstall the game. my mail was still there waiting for me! :D
