The tooltips in the character panel still state they affect block and parry on the English client. This is no longer true as stated in the patch notes and on the JP version of the game.

Odd, I could've sworn that we caught that. Rest assured that these tooltips have since been revised and should be reflected with a future update. Thank you!
Crit was also never updated to reflect that it now increases crit damage too.
Also, Spell Speed should also display that it affects Heal-over-time-based spells/abilities. At this point, it only says that it affects the tick rate of attack magic.
As an additional note, would Spell Speed affect Collective Unconscious's HoT tick rate? It's an ability, not a spell, but I would assume Spell Speed affects it, too.
Also, Skill Speed isn't increasing potency of DoTs, so that tooltip should reflect that if intended. I don't know about Spell Speed.
I was going off this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NA1wX1GgPM But I never noticed it was updated, so oops, You're right! Sorry for the misinformation.
Though I have to wonder about this Youtube comment:
Regardless, no change in the tooltip is needed. I just wasn't sure if they were reverting the Skill Speed addition or not, but it seems to either be a bug that'll be fixed or just has insanely low scaling like always.Quote:
It's because currently all DoTs in the game, all of them, are affected by SPELL speed. Instead of being Spell Speed for Mages and Skill Speed for Melee/Physical, as it should be. Just another bug that should get fixed eventually.
Well, I can easily prove the youtube comment wrong, since I've observed my NIN dots scaling off of Skill Speed. Since it's a multiplier that starts out pretty low, though, it does take a bit before you start to see anything. When my Mutilates were hitting 57-65, it took 72 SS to move that to 58-65. When they were hitting 99-110, 146 SS took them to 102-113. So, since it's a multiplier of damage, the base damage you're doing with no SS also affects how much SS it takes to see a difference. For example, if I had been testing on Mutilate, I'm sure I would have seen slightly faster increments. That said, I would have expected to see some boost on the damage in the video. . .unless it was awkward rounding, maybe. Or if it's partially because BRD has lower WD to multiply against the SS. . .
I see. That's interesting, but good! And in the Spell Speed tooltip they removed the part about DoT durations, so that's good. The Critical Hit Rate tooltip still doesn't say it increases critical damage, though. Anyway uh, maybe we're not supposed to make these kinds of posts in this thread, so that's that.
