WHM Vs AST Healing Comparison at 50

OK so i got 50 WHM and 50 AST, and comparison of their heals with Identicle Gear, Stats and Healing power on weapon.

Its not to far off, AST, lower MP with lower potency, WHM with higher MP cost with Higher potency.

Its alot closer than i was expecting. at level 50, but the gap will widen alot at 60 due to gear and how healing potency is checked

What i could find on Formula of how healing is calculated
potency is a percentage of weapon damage + stat boosts. So 100 potency is just normal damage + stat boosts.. And 120 potency would be (weapon damage + stat boosts) times 1.2( if this is correct)

Basically WHM gets a larger modifier at 60, which will sway the stats more at level 60. We could easily calculate the healing difference between both if we had the stats of any level 60 healer in the new basic gear. with http://valk.dancing-mad.com/calculat...ng-calculator/

This test was done with identicle armor and accessories.
This test both classes used a Grand Company weapon, then i put a sheild on WHM with +3 MND.. AST had +1 MND over WHM
Both Classes had all points put into MND.

AST has no equivalent to Divine seal or PoM. Two abilities that increase healing output. Which is another important thing to consider when comparing WHM to AST. Especially since Divine Seal is only 60 second Cooldown.

Yes that is 100% correct, all i am looking at is base healing, without the WHM or AST buffs.

To me biggest thing im looking at.. does WHM only Pull away when using the healing buffs ?

and i did not compare SCH as i never got it to 50

It sounds like AST would play like WHM, but it lacks key abilities to do such. Keep in mind that AST is forever losing MP especially with Benefic procs. While it makes them instant, they're still losing MP while WHM and Freecure and Overcure are free casts. This makes their MP pool last longer as well.

If you look at raw numbers like that, then you would think "AST can practically do what WHM does", but situations and abilities is what mixes up things. If not, then all jobs would essentially play the same role.

I did a similar comparison with whm/sch/ast as well when I got to 50. Nocturnal sect non-aspect benefited spells were on par with whm with the 5% potency buff. Also my diurnal sect ast could cast those spells faster than my whm, and nocturnal was slightly faster than whm and on par with sch.

While the potency is similar, AST lacks many abilities that make WHM able to put out massive heals, like PoM, DS, Assize, Benediction, and Asylum.

The base heals for all three classes are similar, yes; however, while AST is more MP-efficient, both SCH and WHM are more potent and can be augmented to greatly increase their output.

Which ability gives the entire group a 15% damage buff? I must be missing something.

I confess I lack proper knowledge of the card system but people here are proposing a team wide AOE buff?

Our 40 sec cooldown "OH SH*T" button is probably the best I've ever seen in a healing class in an MMO: "You just dropped to 10% HP? Here, have a completely full instant refill!"

AoE damage buff will be 5% not 15%. Benediction can do the same thing as an "oh crap" heal but on a much longer cooldown so I agree with you on that, a 40sec CD Lustrate isn't all that bad but Lustrate is still better.

Yes, if you Royal Road either the Spear or Arrow cards you will get the ability to AoE your next card used but at 50% less potency. So if I were to Royal Road Spear and then draw Balance (10% increased damage) I can give it out to the entire party but at 5% damage.
