Quick question/concern regarding Duty Finder Penalty

So here's my story:

I queued up for the trial roulette while questing and was in the middle of a rather important cutscene that I didn't want to miss. Unfortunately the timer ran out just as the scene finished so I missed it. This happened again for the Main Scenario Roulette a short while ago while I was afk dealing with some IRL stuff. I heard if this happens three times in one day you get locked out of the duty finder, if this is true, how long does this last? The fact that it happened twice already has me afraid to try going into duty finder again and wind up unintentionally missing another queue and being stuck for a day or something.

The penalty is given after withdrawing three times, and is for 30 minutes. Each withdrawal following that is another 30 minute penalty, and resets daily

Letting the timer run out is the same as withdrawing, but it's more forgiving in that it has to happen 3 times in one day, then you get a 30 minute penalty before you can use duty finder again. If you're already in a dungeon and you leave it mid way through, then it's an immediate 30 minute penalty. You get the 3 times in one day I guess since it's easy to be dealing with RL stuff and have it pop up and what not. It has to be same day though so you're fine.

The daily timer for the penalty resets with all the other daily stuff. This occurs at 11am EST. (It changes when daylight savings time ends since Japan does not have daylight savings.)

This means if you withdraw 3 times at 8 am because you were afk making coffee you'll have a clean slate once the daily reset occurs in a few hours.

It also means you will continue getting a 30 minute penalty for each withdrawal until the reset occurs if you've withdrawn 3 times after 11 am EST.

In other words try to do everything you need to do before you queue like make food/coffee etc. If you are expecting anything like a package probably not best to queue because it can and will pop while you are signing for it. Though still the biggest cause of missing DF pops is crafting. People are like "I will craft all this stuff while I queue" then it pops in a few minutes and it's like "Oh I'm in the middle of this craft and can't stop guess I'll let it time out"
