Heavensward region issue
I originally got FFXIV while living in the UK, and recently moved to Canada. Today I went and pre-ordered Heavensward, which it turns out won't even activate on my account because my region is set to EU. I had no idea it would even be an issue, but after doing a bit of research it seems that the whole moving regions thing has been a bit of an ongoing problem for people. But I haven't yet found anyone that's figured out a way to solve this problem. Anyone have any ideas? Aside from starting over on a North American account. Thanks.

I had similar problem with my pre-order. Had to cancel it from Amazon after my early access code won't work. Amazon ships NA region, not EU region. My account is EU region so I have to buy HW EU region only.
This the link
Last question. If your account is EU, then you have to buy HW EU and so on.

Thanks for the reply. So it looks like my only option now is to try to get a refund and then order the EU version somehow? So much for early access for me :/

Bit of an update: So after going back and forth with customer support for a while, I was finally issued a refund and given a link to the Square EU store, which obviously doesn't let me order because I'm in Canada. I can't figure it out. I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing this. Every search through discussions regarding this all turn up with no real solution. Not sure what to do.

There's a couple options, don't worry.
1) Use a VPN service set for EU. There are some free ones which aren't guaranteed to work, but the paid ones usually have a free trial so you shouldn't have to pay.
2) Buy from a 3rd party. I think GreenManGaming will sell you an EU version even if you're not in the EU. I'm sure there are others as well.
3) Get a friend from the EU to buy it for you and give you the registration codes.
