Can we get merged gear stats for Monk/Ninja, heck even maybe Dragoon? Kinda like the solidery tomestone sets? Its getting beyond annoying seeing very selective loot drops.
Tanks all share the same gear/stats
Healers all share the same gear/stats
Casters all the same gear/stats
Alls we need is all melee to share the same gear/stats and wed be set, instead of dividing up all these sets into separate gear stat sets that just over clog bosses with 100 pieces of loot.

Will it would be easier to homogenize gear, the classes I think would lose their aesthetic appeal if they did so. You do already see this with tanking classes, however when we start seeing classes that are aesthetically similar for other roles I imagine they would share gear, an example would be Dragoon and Samurai (whenever it decides to show up).

in addition - MCH is sharing gear with BRD (ranged together) so yes DRG MNK and NIN definately need to merge gear-wise. Aesthetics isnt reason enough to keep them seperate as with Syrcus Tower MNK and DRG looked the same and with WoD NIN and MNK looked the same.

I'm relieved, that with the exception of weapons, the game didn't add any gear set types. I do not want to have to roll dungeons in the future where the gear I want competes with too many different sets. Please try and keep it at Fending, Healing, Casting, Aiming, Maiming, Striking, and Scouting.

No. That would make every class look the same and make them lose their spirit. Personally I don't mind doing the work of getting them each their gears. Also, monks have the ugliest armor sets, last thing I want is for any other job to share their armor set and to be forced to wear them. I had to get my ninja the poetic set because the soldiery one was the monk set, now shared with ninja, which was fugly.
No one want to have monk armor sets, too horrible and fugly.
