Miscellaneous New Player Questions

Various questions, since I'm new and can't find the answers!

1. Gear--should I keep it in case I level other classes or keep it to give to retainers? or is it better to convert it and sell materia? If I get rid of the gear (selling or converting), are there enough other places to get gear for leveling other classes once I've done all the actual quests?

2. Level 40 Leves at Camp Bluefog--but level 49 mobs in the zone? What's up with that?

3. Can you change class when group is ready in duty finder? If I'm out mining, can I join the duty finder and then change when a group is ready?

4. In the duty finder, do you only get grouped with players from your own world?

5. New character leaf symbol--how long does it stay on a new character?

6. When I do levequests, is the speed of completion bonus based on when you complete the levequest, or when you actually turn it in?

7. Gear durability--if gear is not 100%, do you take more damage? Can you let gear get down to 10% before repairs or is that a bad idea?

1. Nothing before level 32 greens are worth keeping. Convert to materia if you can, trade to gc for seals, then vendor. Your inventory is more valuable.

2. Lesson learned, be aware of your surroundings.

4. You get paired with people from you battle group which is a group of servers.

Heh, I did one levequest out there in Camp Bluefog at level 40 and decided I'd go back later for others. I got through it because I am aware and was careful not to aggro the level 49 mobs around for the most part, and I ran when I did get too close to one of them!

I just wondered if there was some reason that it was like that, since it would seem more logical to put level 45+ leves there considering the level of the mobs in the zone.

So when I get level 32+ greens, what's the best thing to do with those? I did convert a couple of things that were probably at that level and managed to sell the materia for quite a lot, but should I have saved the gear for something else?

The Level 15 and 32 greens are the best for the level as well as having nice designs. Lots of people like to keep them for the glamour system post 50, which lets you change the appearance of one piece of gear into another's, with a few restrictions. There is dyeable crafted armor with those designs at 50 but they have some rare ingredients and crafting requirements so that drives up the cost.

1. Gear-- I suggest keeping green gear around for other jobs you plan on leveling. For gray gear I suggest converting them around 40+ for rank 3~ up as the 2 & 1 are not worth it. I also suggest greeding on greens in low level dungeons that are unique but not untradable as you can get some good money on market boards.

2. but level 49 mobs in the zone? What's up with that? North Than is actually the Zone people use to grind through 45+ on Fates. Camp Blue Frog is not really a good place to do leves, I would suggest Coerthas.

3. Can you change class when group is ready in duty finder? Yes as long as your are not in combat.

4. In the duty finder, do you only get grouped with players from your own world?No it's cross server with people in your data base. Ex: I'm from Primal Server/Hyperion so I get grped with Balmung/legacy servers

5. New character leaf symbol--how long does it stay on a new character? I think until you hit 40, or a week of play time honestly.

You don't take more damage until it gets really low, you start losing stats and vit goes down a lot. You will be at like 1k hp at 50 while people are at 6k~. I usually repair at half~
