What gear for AST ?

Okay, he's a healer, common sense should be to use gears made of MND.

Yet, I've seen plenty of quests which rewards us with AST gear made of INT (shared BLM/SMN gear).

So I'm curious to know why. Has anyone been testing both/ either of them extensively ? Why are there two sets of gear that radically oppose to each other ?

Any information about this will be much appreciated. Thanks

What quest? I'm at 42 and have yet to see any gear that you speak off. I do know that some of the weapons are heavy in crit so crit my be something to look at
