I know lots of people seem to not love walking around and attuning to things before they get to experience flying around on a chocobo but I must say... I really like it.
I love exploring the maps so much and now that there's an actual incentive to do it?? Such a nice bonus.

Dodging all the enemies, climbing onto huge rocks, accidentally misjudging a jump and falling to my death... no, really though, I just had so much fun attuning in one map. I can't wait to do the others!

Also the extra big maps are AWESOME. I love them.

ive seen some1 repelling shot of a cliff tho while fightin lol actualy cracked me up :p

To be fair, there's always been a small incentive to uncovering more of the map. But I can't wait to experience the joy of flight.

I'm one little quest away from taking flight in the Western Highlands, and I couldn't be happier. The zones feel much more alive, and the enemies can actually take a beating before they go down, so you have to be a little more careful than in previous zones. And yet, somehow it's still very accessible. Rarely have I felt powerless to get out of a bad situation, and even larger groups of enemies I could evade so people who were worried about being constantly overwhelmed need not fear.

This expansion has been an absolute joy so far and I couldn't praise the devs more highly for it.

On-topic:
I've enjoyed it a lot too.
Exploring has been fun. I didn't have as much of a habit doing side-quests in this game, so that's the only thing that took a little adjusting.
However, the MSQ and the side quests have been quick and enjoyable. The pacing is miles better.

Also, the huge zones feel great. ARR zones always felt a bit stifled to me.
They looked great but they were just too compact for me, when taking into account that each zone is instanced.

So yea, it's been a breath of fresh air and the new zones have a good amount of personality to them as well.

Unlocking flight in the Dravnian Forelands was kind of a pain but man was it worth it:

I agree the new zones are amazing! So beautiful too, the skies in the Sea of Clouds are just gorgeous. I'm excited to unlock flying but to be honest I'm loving soaking in all the amazing views on the ground too.

I love having to search for all the aether currents by foot first. What I don't love is the quest ones being gated constantly by story progress.
