Wife cannot get verification e-mail making new account

I had placed this in the Tech Forums, but due to the slowness because of the new pre order launch, I thought to add it here in case anyone has had this happen and could enlighten me ...

It took some time, but I got my wife into playing the game again. She bought the original + Heavensword pack for 59.99 USD, and the money was taken out the same day (today 6/19/15)

I also sent her a mail through Recruit a Friend (which she did receive with the 8 digit code to use) and so she went about making an account.

Problem is, she is not getting an e-mail.

She has tried 2 different e-mails, hit All Mail in her gmail to see where it is (it even shows SPAM) as well as tried different times during the day. Nothing.

She is getting upset because the money for the game was already taken out, and she can't even play the original game.

Is there something going on to ease her mind?

It does say the pc download will be available on 6/23/15. Is that keeping her from making an account and getting the verify e-mail? (I can see having her not play the Heavensword content, but come on, you took the money out already, so let her at least play the other stuff)

She does not have an account with Square Enix in any way (she bought a new pack and wants to make a new account), so I don't think that is an issue.

Any help is appreciated, since she can't get a refund (as she already hit Unlock Key so she could have it for her account, which she now can't make).
