I've seen different things in different places, I know you have to complete all the story quests. My question is how long that is expected to take. I've seen some say a week, I've seen others say many weeks. This is assuming play sessions most days of the week.
I'm really kind of irked the new classes are locked away behind so much stuff that.. I really honestly don't care about. The story has never grabbed me, I'm not interested in it, I'm not even especially interested in end game stuff. I just want to try the new jobs.

It honestly depends on how much time you have. I've done the story quests patch-per-patch, so I can only take a rough guess at how long it would take to do all in one chunk of time... If you beat 2.0's main story, if you play for 12 hours a day, it might take you a couple days to finish the rest? I could be very wrong since I'm only guessing. They can take quite a while, and it depends on other factors like how long queues take for the dungeons, if you succeed in completing them, etc. Don't forget to take bathroom breaks and eat your 3 meals per day, too, so just take that additional time into consideration. Idk. That's just my guess. XD Someone correct me.

Ya the game does go kinda overboard on the story quests. It's roughly 2 years worth of quests to unlock Ishgard and get the new jobs. The only good news is they increased xp gained, bump first timers to the front of dungeon queues, and give you free gear during the story quests so it should speed you up pretty good. That said it'll prob still take you 10-15 hours to get through the rest of the story from where you are.

If your 46 you can jump on the fate trains going on and be 50 by tonight {if your willing to deal with 4 to 5 hours worth of grinding} As for actually beating all of the story to get into HW :P sadly weeks prob as i don't think you will find a truck load of ppl doing old story runs {hope i'm wrong} gl

After you hit 50 and if you have to solo DF the intances figure 2 weeks at a couple of hours a day play time.
