Dark Knight Starting Quest icon missing

The Ishgardian Citizen NPC is not shown in map.

I am also having the problem of heading to where the NPC is, and they do not spawn. I cannot even see that another character is selecting them, as I might with an S rank hunt that wasn't loading due to number of players present.

You are correct, the quest does not show up on the map. There have been a few quest-line starters that have behaved this way in the past (like Rogue's beginning questline, if I remember correctly). You'll also notice when you get to the Ishgardian Citizen that the quest marker above his head is actually thinner than the usual quest marker.

Quests to unlock new classes have never been shown on the map. The new jobs are no different, they're just jobs instead of classes. MCH and AST can be found by looking for their guild icon on the map. The reason DRK's unlock lacking an icon seems so weird to folks is that there is no DRK guild, so there's nothing obvious on the map that shows where it could be unlocked.

The NPC not loading at all though, that sounds like a bug...

NPC isn't loading for me either.
