Error 1014 is the new 3102

Symptoms:

Character is invisible
No queue on attempting to log in.
Short loading screen before the error.
* Restarting does not correct any symptoms.

And people are surprised because...?

Hooray, we broke the servers again!

Granted, in my testing some of them still work fine.

More interesting than mere server congestion is that it appears to put our characters into a bugged state.

my char has reappeared. it looks like they are working on it pretty quick.

This seems to be a thing for Balmung. I and about 9 of my friends are all affected by this problem as we try to log into Balmung. Exact as described by Risvertasashi.

Surprised? No, but just confirming that it is in fact happening to other people as well.

Soon as I posted this, my characters appeared. So yeah.

However, we all still get the 1014 error. None of us can log in yet. Gahh!

There's actually a number of servers doing it. It's fairly easy to notice if you have characters scattered around like I do.

Same thing now trying to get into Excal

on the bright side, i love the new title screen :D

Its pretty lol.

I love coming to the forums when stuff like this happens cuz I go from "the gods hate me! OMG I'm never going to play its just me"
