Guildleves
[3.0] Players can now undertake "Temple Leves," a new form of guildleves, in new areas.
As with the regular guildleves, players can select from battlecraft leves, fieldcraft leves, and tradecraft leves. Furthermore, players may undertake large-scale levequests which require ten leve allowances. While much more difficult than normal levequests, they offer far greater experience points and rewards.

Unlike levequests in the original 2.0 areas, rather than being transported back to the levemete, players will be transported to a nearby hamlet upon the completion of temple leves.

* The difficulty of temple leves can only be increased to +1. In the event your character is two or more levels higher than that of the levequest, you will suffer a penalty to rewards.
* Reattempting a large-scale temple leve will require an additional 10 allowances.

When undertaking battlecraft leves, players may come across treasure coffers which sometimes contain amber-encased vilekin. These rare items can be exchanged with the following NPC:

Workshops can be used to craft company projects such as aetherial wheels, housing materials, and airships for your free company. Airships built by your free company can then be deployed on exploratory voyages.



- Company Workshops
In order to craft company projects, players must first purchase a company workshop. The option to purchase a company workshop is available at the entrance to private chambers.



* A company workshop can only be purchased by the free company leader or members with the authorization to build or remove a workshop.

- Company Crafting
Company projects may require the cooperation of free company members depending on the amount of materials required. The materials required for any given project can be confirmed by opening the company crafting log via the fabrication station.



- Schematic Board
The schematic board is used to draft new projects. After gathering the required items, select the plan you wish to create. A new plan will then be added to the company crafting log automatically.



- Company Airships
Company workshops can also be utilized to craft and register airships using requisite components and flight credits.



[2.0][3.0] Exploratory Voyages have been implemented.


- Undertaking Exploratory Voyages
Registered airships can be deployed to explore uncharted lands in the Sea of Clouds. These explorations are carried out automatically, with airships returning after a fixed amount of time. Upon completion of an exploratory voyage, you will be provided with a voyage log detailing the results. You will also receive various items depending on the results of the voyage.



- Charting a Voyage
As you continue to deploy airships on voyages, you will eventually discover new areas to survey.



- Airship Performance
The combination of parts used to build an airship will determine the distances it can travel, as well as the rewards you will receive from voyages.



Rank
When a voyage is complete, airships will gain experience points depending on its selected flight path, and eventually increase in rank. Higher rankings will allow you to outfit airships with new components to improve their performance on future voyages.

Parameters
The parameters of an airship affect the distance it can travel, the time required for voyages, as well as the rewards received from voyages. Parameters of an airship can be altered by changing its components.

- Airship Components
Airships are comprised of four primary parts—the hull, rigging, forecastle, and aftcastle. Bear in mind that durability of these parts will be depleted when sending airships out on exploratory voyages. When the durability of any given part reaches zero, it will need to be replaced or repaired.

Component Costs and Airframe Capacity
When assembling an airship, the total cost of the components cannot exceed the airframe capacity. The airframe capacity increases with the rank of the airship.

- Ceruleum Tanks
Airships require ceruleum tanks to be deployed on exploratory voyages. They can be purchased using company credits from the resident caretaker in any of the housing districts.

* Your free company must own a house before purchasing a workshop or undertaking exploratory voyages. The size of the house has no effect on crafting or exploration.

- Flying Mounts
Players will receive a flying mount by progressing through the main scenario. However, they will be unable to fly until attuning to the aether currents in each area. You can review your progress via the Aether Currents window found under Travel in the main menu. While many aether currents can be found in the field, others can only be accessed through main scenario and side quests. Players will be given an aether compass to aid in their search for aether currents.

* Should you lose your compass, speak with Gibrillont at the Forgotten Knight to obtain another.



An icon on the map will indicate in which areas you can use flying mounts.



- Taking Flight
After attuning to all the aether currents in an area, press the jump key while riding a flying mount to fly.

* By default flying mounts will take off after jumping once. To change this, proceed to the General tab under Control Settings in the Character Configuration menu. The two options available are "Auto: Take off on jump" and "Manual: Take off on double jump".

Controls While Flying
Flying controls are very similar to those when on the ground, with small differences depending on your movement settings.

Standard Type (Character-based)
Movement in the direction your character is facing, regardless of turning the camera.
* For more advanced controls, players have the option to enable angular ascent and descent using keybinds.

Legacy Type (Camera-based)
Movement in the direction the camera is facing. When auto-run is not enabled, tilting the camera up or down will cause you to ascend or descend.

Quick Descent
Pressing the Draw/Sheathe Weapon button will cause your mount to descend straight down to the ground below you. Your character will dismount if already on the ground.

Activating auto-fly will automatically enable standard-type controls by default. This option can be disabled by deselecting "Activate standard-type auto-fly" under Movement Settings on the General tab of Control Settings in the Character Configuration menu.

Flying With Pets
Taking off with a pet summoned will temporarily disable it until landing and dismounting from your mount.

* By completing the quest "I Believe I Can Fly" players' chocobo companions, legacy chocobos, and fat chocobos will be able to fly.


Battle System
[3.0] The level cap for all Disciples of War and Magic has been raised to 60.
In accordance with this change, the experience required from level 50 to 51 has been adjusted.

This option has no effect on the strength of enemies or mechanics in the duties it is applied to. Players will still receive treasure rewards, first time completion bonuses, and experience points upon completion of duty when using this option. However, players will not receive experience points or items from enemies that appear prior to boss encounters. Spirit bond and soul resonance cannot be gained when using this option.

* Only the party leader may select this setting.

[2.0] The Minimum IL option has been added to the Duty Finder Settings menu.
Using this option, all gear will be item level synced to the minimum requirement of the duty where it is applied. Minimum IL can be used with the required number of party members or in conjunction with the undersized party option. This option is recommended for players who wish to challenge duties as they were when first introduced.



* The level sync enforced by Minimum IL will take effect even when used in conjunction with the undersized party option.
* Only the party leader may select this setting.

[2.0] Loot rules can now be set when entering a duty while meeting the party size requirements or when using the undersized party option.
Players can access the Loot Rules tab of the Duty Finder Settings menu after meeting party size requirements, or by enabling the undersized party option. Doing so will give parties the option of using normal loot rules, greed only, or setting the party leader as lootmaster to determine individual loot distribution.

* Loot rules cannot be set for duties that require an alliance.
* The party leader will not be randomly assigned upon entering a duty when lootmaster is enabled.

Furthermore, items can be distributed until a duty has ended. In the event players leave the duty without selecting Greed or Pass, items will be distributed to the last member to remain in the duty.

* Loot rules cannot be changed after a duty has started.
* Loot rules will default to normal when randomly matched with other players via the Duty Finder.

Players can select Pass even when they have already selected Need or Greed if the loot has not yet been distributed.

Collectable items can be converted to normal quality items via the subcommand menu.

- Gathering Collectables
To gather collectable items, players must use the Collector's Glove command. While under the effect of this command, players can gather items as collectables.

After gathering a collectable item, players can then use the general action Aetherial Reduction to possibly receive items of even greater rarity.





[3.0] The crafting specialist system has been added.
By completing a special quest, players can receive a specialized soul for each of the Disciples of the Hand. Equipping this soul will give access to unique actions that allow for more efficient and higher-quality synthesis for that class.

Players can hold up to three specialized souls. You will need to relinquish one of your three specialized souls if you wish to specialize in a different discipline.

Early access is finally here! And with just a few days until the official release of Heavensward, we are pleased to announce that the patch notes for FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward have been released in their entirety.

Guildleves
[3.0] Players can now undertake "Temple Leves," a new form of guildleves, in new areas.
As with the regular guildleves, players can select from battlecraft leves, fieldcraft leves, and tradecraft leves. Furthermore, players may undertake large-scale levequests which require ten leve allowances. While much more difficult than normal levequests, they offer far greater experience points and rewards.

Unlike levequests in the original 2.0 areas, rather than being transported back to the levemete, players will be transported to a nearby hamlet upon the completion of temple leves.

* The difficulty of temple leves can only be increased to +1. In the event your character is two or more levels higher than that of the levequest, you will suffer a penalty to rewards.
* Reattempting a large-scale temple leve will require an additional 10 allowances.

When undertaking battlecraft leves, players may come across treasure coffers which sometimes contain amber-encased vilekin. These rare items can be exchanged with the following NPC:

Workshops can be used to craft company projects such as aetherial wheels, housing materials, and airships for your free company. Airships built by your free company can then be deployed on exploratory voyages.



- Company Workshops
In order to craft company projects, players must first purchase a company workshop. The option to purchase a company workshop is available at the entrance to private chambers.



* A company workshop can only be purchased by the free company leader or members with the authorization to build or remove a workshop.

- Company Crafting
Company projects may require the cooperation of free company members depending on the amount of materials required. The materials required for any given project can be confirmed by opening the company crafting log via the fabrication station.


- Schematic Board
The schematic board is used to draft new projects. After gathering the required items, select the plan you wish to create. A new plan will then be added to the company crafting log automatically.


- Company Airships
Company workshops can also be utilized to craft and register airships using requisite components and flight credits.


[2.0][3.0] Exploratory Voyages have been implemented.


- Undertaking Exploratory Voyages
Registered airships can be deployed to explore uncharted lands in the Sea of Clouds. These explorations are carried out automatically, with airships returning after a fixed amount of time. Upon completion of an exploratory voyage, you will be provided with a voyage log detailing the results. You will also receive various items depending on the results of the voyage.


- Charting a Voyage
As you continue to deploy airships on voyages, you will eventually discover new areas to survey.


- Airship Performance
The combination of parts used to build an airship will determine the distances it can travel, as well as the rewards you will receive from voyages.


Rank
When a voyage is complete, airships will gain experience points depending on its selected flight path, and eventually increase in rank. Higher rankings will allow you to outfit airships with new components to improve their performance on future voyages.

Parameters
The parameters of an airship affect the distance it can travel, the time required for voyages, as well as the rewards received from voyages. Parameters of an airship can be altered by changing its components.

- Airship Components
Airships are comprised of four primary parts—the hull, rigging, forecastle, and aftcastle. Bear in mind that durability of these parts will be depleted when sending airships out on exploratory voyages. When the durability of any given part reaches zero, it will need to be replaced or repaired.

Component Costs and Airframe Capacity
When assembling an airship, the total cost of the components cannot exceed the airframe capacity. The airframe capacity increases with the rank of the airship.

- Ceruleum Tanks
Airships require ceruleum tanks to be deployed on exploratory voyages. They can be purchased using company credits from the resident caretaker in any of the housing districts.

* Your free company must own a house before purchasing a workshop or undertaking exploratory voyages. The size of the house has no effect on crafting or exploration.

- Flying Mounts
Players will receive a flying mount by progressing through the main scenario. However, they will be unable to fly until attuning to the aether currents in each area. You can review your progress via the Aether Currents window found under Travel in the main menu. While many aether currents can be found in the field, others can only be accessed through main scenario and side quests. Players will be given an aether compass to aid in their search for aether currents.

* Should you lose your compass, speak with Gibrillont at the Forgotten Knight to obtain another.



An icon on the map will indicate in which areas you can use flying mounts.


- Taking Flight
After attuning to all the aether currents in an area, press the jump key while riding a flying mount to fly.

* By default flying mounts will take off after jumping once. To change this, proceed to the General tab under Control Settings in the Character Configuration menu. The two options available are "Auto: Take off on jump" and "Manual: Take off on double jump".

Controls While Flying
Flying controls are very similar to those when on the ground, with small differences depending on your movement settings.

Standard Type (Character-based)
Movement in the direction your character is facing, regardless of turning the camera.
* For more advanced controls, players have the option to enable angular ascent and descent using keybinds.

Legacy Type (Camera-based)
Movement in the direction the camera is facing. When auto-run is not enabled, tilting the camera up or down will cause you to ascend or descend.

Quick Descent
Pressing the Draw/Sheathe Weapon button will cause your mount to descend straight down to the ground below you. Your character will dismount if already on the ground.

Flying With Pets
Taking off with a pet summoned will temporarily disable it until landing and dismounting from your mount.

* By completing the quest "I Believe I Can Fly" players' chocobo companions, legacy chocobos, and fat chocobos will be able to fly.
