There was a problem downloading the update

So I got my initial 4 GB patch. Now I'm trying to download the expansion which is showing as 6603.63 MB.

I'm getting errors about 500 MB in that say "There was a problem downloading the update. Please restart FFXIV." So I restart..... and the entire thing starts over from the beginning, 0/6603.63 MB.

Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence. It's happened three times now, though, all around the same place.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Windows 8, btw.

Could just be server stress.

Used to happen to me on big patches etc. Try restarting your pc just incase, and all i can say is keep trying. Patches also include RNG maybe you keep rolling a 1

I kept getting this. Restarted in safe mode. Downloaded patch and installed. No problem.

Ah good thinking. If it happens again I'll try that. Made it to 1160 MB this time. Crossing my fingers!
