I was wondering, when I got FFXIV:A Realm Reborn I got a free upgrade to the digital collector's edition for being a player since FFXIV 1.0, and also got free access to play on the PC and a free 30 days. I was wondering if they are doing the same for the Mac version or do I have the purchase the game again to play on my MacBook Pro?

That, and Mac is another platform.
You must buy a license for each platform you want to play on. Even if you had the Windows version of ARR fully working and paying for monthly subscriptions, you would still have to buy the Mac version of base ARR + HS expansion to play on your Mac. -

I never bought the PC version of A Realm Reborn, I only bought the 1.0 Collector's Edition in 2010, and didn't get my Standard Edition of A Realm Reborn until April 2014 when it came out on PS4. I've had access to the PC version since the day I got A Realm Reborn on my PS4, and they automatically upgraded me to the Digital Collector's Edition, when I called them on PS4 lauch day about a question I had about setting up my account on PS4. I would suggest calling Customer, or Tech support anytime you need to, as they had the best phone support I've used in a long time. Even though I barely play FFXIV on my PC, that can more than handle and play the game with pretty good graphic, and no Internet lag or graphics lag, I play FFXIV like 99% of the time on my PS4, and not my PC. I think they did this for a limited after 2.0 ARR released, or they might do it for all new players anytime, as long as you played the 1.0 version on the account you use to play ARR, or maybe subscribed for at least 1 month or more. If you played 1.0, I think in your account settings it should your account is a legacy account. Even though 1.0 was only from like 2010-2012 they kept it no subscription free to play that whole time or at least F2P until the last few months cuz of all the bad and negative reviews the game was getting, then relauched with ARR being pay to play with a monthly fee. Anyways why wouldn't they give me Mac version free? If my account already has both PC and PS4, and I don't think it's any different, and I don't think there are any different exclusive items or bonus items for each system, I think all the items or bonuses you can get in-game are the same for each system. I know it's cross-platform or cross-play meaning someone on PC can play with someone on PS4 or PS3 and vice versa. But I think a lot of people, not all but some who are going to get the Mac version that don't have a PC and just a Mac. I think 1st time Mac players should get something extra for 1st time sign up, and there might be a few Mac players who were 1.0 players but are new to ARR on there Mac, I feel like if you are brand new to ARR with the Mac version and played 1.0, they should upgrade you to just ARR digital collector's edition, but just standard Heavensward not the Heavensward collector's. I feel like legacy accounts, that played 1.0, should either have liscenses automatically for all systems PS4,PS3,PC, and Mac or be able to purchase game once for 1 system, and be able to play on all compatible systems/devices. Or at least I think they should have license bundle or something available to everyone,whether you're new, old, or returning to the game, that's would be available for purchase in the mog store, that would be cheaper than buying the game for each system you own or plan to play on. I have a PS4, PS3, PC, and Macbook Pro, I play on my PS4 the most and I would love to play on my Mac, without having to buy the base game ARR and Heavensward again, since I've already bought the game on PS4, and already pre-ordered and I'm playing Heavensward 3 day early access already right now on my PS4 and I'm going to the midnight launch they're having at my local GameStop on Monday, and I'm supposed to get an exclusive GameStop Heavensward cloth poster. Sorry for the really long post. I just feel like we shouldn't have to buy the game again if we already own it on another system, especially since it's cross-platform or cross-play, I can play on my PS4 log out of my PS4 and log back in on my PC and be at the same exact spot I was at when I logged outta my PS4.Quote:
