Rant: Feast of Famine (Helicorpion).

Yea, yea, I should post this under classes/jobs/disciples of the land section but no one reads that and I want you all to hear me rawr!

I have caught all the fish in respectable times for this quest except helicporpion. What I am so aggravated about is the time/weather line up. Fog/overcast into heatwave between 0800-2000. Ok, yea, you have all day to fish, but the overcast/fog never, ever, ever, ever lines up. And when it does, it becomes active either at the end of the day or at midnight. Both time frames leaving you with 4 real time minutes of fishing.

I kid you not when I say I have been monitoring Cat Became Hungry Skywatcher every single waking moment that I am not at work, or obviously sleeping....for over, OVER TWO MONTHS now. Within that time the stars have aligned on three occasions. but each one was one of those 4 minute windows and within those windows, I've successfully mooched/casted/missed or did not hook him six times. SIX TIMES IN TWO MONTHS.

I forget the name of the fish, but the one in south shroud...
I gave up on this quest because I'm a fully bis fisher and have spent months going there, only getting mr takitaro near the end of the window, then losing the fish.

I feel like as a fully bis fisher with bis food popped I should be having much better rng than this.

I gave up on this quest until i hit 60 and get gear that's way op, because right now i feel like all the work i put into my gear makes 0 difference.

well i catched them all and to see if he is gonna be up i used FFxivfisher appspot it helped a lot and i saw more than 6 windows in 5 days

I feel your pain, I started the feast of famine quest when I was at about 20/112 big fish, was 4/6 on the quest with everything except the shonisaurus and the helicoprion by the time I got the 84 achievement mark. Shonisaurus was mostly due to a lack of the window popping but I caught it around fish 90ish, but the helicoprion got away from me at least 10 times before I finally caught it as fish #106 to finish off both achievements at the same time. I prioritized the legendary fish whenever they were up, so I think the helicoprion took me roughly 3 months. Now I just need to find the motivation to catch those last 6 fish that I won't get an achievement for :/
