im from 1.0 and bought arr from steam and se says got buy hw from someone else

So I'm from 1.0, but I bought arr from steam Pre-Order heavenward from steam and SE says got buy heavenward from somewhere else to get a working key?! it makes my blood boil, this isn't OK this fills like 1.0 all over again. They need fix this not say buy it somewhere else returns are pain on steam even with there new system and I like buying my game on steam with steam wallet cards, and there not going give me return for arr I bought from them, can't see why people think this OK its SE being lazy again.
Can you help me get this through to SE that this isn't OK that they need fix this and how it's lazy and we put up with a lot from SE from 1.0 lazy unfinished game and payment problems to out of control spamming in game it got to stop. they need start given a crap about their clients. please help me.

Because of your forum name?

Steam and Windows native aren't the same client.
While you can own multiple clients on a single SE account, you cannot overlap Steam and Windows specifically.

So if you're a 1.0 player like myself, you cannot own the Steam version as far as I am aware. You aren't locked into only buying from SE. You can buy it from anywhere so as long as it's the Windows (non-steam) version. I bought Heavensward from GMG. Came at a nice discount.

The only players locked into buying expansion packs from a single source are Steam users, who cannot order the game anywhere but Steam.

I have to ask... why do you want to buy it through Steam? Is there some overriding requirement that compels you to use Steam over the game's own launcher? I mean, I can't stand that my copy of Skyrim will only run through Steam. Makes playing on the go near impossible unless I jump Steam's hoops to activate offline mode before leaving home, which is idiotic when the game in question has no online components whatsoever.

I know a lot of people recently were super stressed out that Steam only made Heavensward available for purchase only just a few days ago.
While PS3, PS4, and native Windows clients were available for many weeks beforehand.

The only advantage I see to Steam is the Steam Wallet being used for payment. And that's only if you actually gain Steam credit through various means. Cards, hats, refunds, whatever.

Anyway, so what you meant was you have the ARR client from the day of 1.0 correct? And you have been playing since then but then you ordered Heavensward from Steam instead of buying it from else where? If so, you only have 2 choices here:

1. Buy the steam version of ARR
2. Refund the steam version and buy windows version of Heavensward

And there are numerous thread about your problem and there are also explanations how it doesn't work too. It's not because of SE laziness.
