Automatic Download (primarily about PS3/PS4)

Please enable PS3/PS4 systems to use the consoles' Automatic Download feature for game patches. It's controlled through our PSN connection, which is already linked to purchase/registration of the game and isn't going to download anything we haven't paid for. It simply does the download while we're sleeping or at work rather than having to do it when we're there and ready to play.

Leave manual logins just for actually playing, which is where they make sense, since that requires checking with SE about our subscription status. Access to the software should require purchase of the software, whereas access to the game servers is what should require an active sub.


p.s. It would be good to offer a similar background updater program for PC users as well, though in that case you'd need to provide the software to manage it.
