Is there a way to stop friend requests without using /busy?

If there is one thing that will make me leave this game, it's all the bots that spam me to no end. I repeatedly have a bot send me a friend request that I decline only to have him immediately send me another one.

There are ways to detect and shut down these bots. It's been proven in other MMOS. Blizzard recently banned about 200,000 bot accounts and it wasn't near as bad as it is here. Some of the bots that people were banned for were claiming to be undetectable. The truth was that Blizzard just hadn't decided to go after them. I love this game. I just bought it a couple of days ago after my trial account expired. But I have already had to set it so that I no longer receive Tells and now I'm looking for a way to shut down friend requests because the company won't go after bots.

One great suggestion that will go a long way to slowing them down is to stop all tells that link websites. You run a search on all outgoing tells that removes both spaces, punctuation, and special characters from the tell. Then if a url appears, block it.
Thus: S T U P I D B O T S I T E .COM becomes STUPIDBOTSITE.COM and gets blocked.

If it's the same bot sending the request repeatedly, blacklisting them will stop it. (The note in your chat log saying something to the effect of "You decline Friend Request from Rmt'com Sellgils" can be selected with right click or controller's square button to get the same Blacklist option as on a tell message.)

Unfortunately, this doesn't work if it's an RMT site with dozens of bots each sending you a Friend request. I wish SE would add a setting in character options where we could turn on/off Friend requests entirely. It's often been asked for, but no luck so far.

At the very least, bots should be banned permanently forcing them to purchase new accounts each and every time. It would be profitable for this company and it would discourage the bots.
