Problems with Heavensward early access

Yesterday I purchased the digital CE from the SE store. When trying to enter the early access code in to my account via the mog station I'm getting a message saying the code is invalid. I DO have a Steam account, but purchased the product via the SE online store. The only advice I can find is something along the lines of "you're screwed, so go re-purchase it on Steam and get a refund from SE." But when you activate the item code on the SE store page you're informed that once it has been activated the product can no longer be refunded. I put in a support ticket already but I figured I should cover all my bases and leave something here. Please halp!:(

Side note: I received an email similar to https://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com/na. Part of the message says that the code is currently not redeemable and I will receive and email when it is. However it doesn't mention anything about a "Steam version" of the game, just PS3/4 Windows and Mac.
