Query regarding pre-order billing/ordering

Sorry to make a forum post for this but the SE cust support have not responded and paypal arent being helpful either.

I pre-ordered the regular digital version of the expansion through EU store on 22nd april, and chose to pay with paypal. Figuring that payement would be taken sometime around now I went to double-check it and what card I'd used - only to see that Paypal has auto-expired the authorisation as it is past 30 days and so wont be collecting payment.
I've already added the early access code to mog station - so not sure how to go about this.
Do I re-order the game and hope I'm not too late for any pre-order bonuses, or do I wait?

May I suggest SE review their service/agreement with paypal to stop this happening for other people?

Huh. I used PayPal too. I better check mine. Might explain why I can't use my code at all.

I also bought a digital version through paypal but I have never seen a charge for it, but I did receive the pre order code and already registered the early access code. Hope nothing goes wrong. I have no idea what card they are supposed to charge.
I have since removed some things from my paypal account. Surprised I was able to register the early access code on the mog station when they haven't charged me yet.

While it is normal that they dont charge until closer to release - it should still show on your paypal history as an awaiting transaction. If not then scroll down to watever date you made the order and see if it says cancelled.

I am in the US so idk if pp does anything different. For me i paid with paypal direct debit so if the first option would have failed pp would have used my secondary payment option. So SE hit pp for my payment. PP sent me an email. The next day the PP transaction went to pending status in my account. Day 3 the transaction cleared. So unless your secondary payment option does not have the funds u should be ok.

It doesnt sound like transactions work the same over here then as we do a card authorisation (ie, you may take funds to the amount of xxx.xx when you feel ready) but for some reason paypal has decided that authorisation will only last for 30 days, and as SE hasnt collected within 30 days it has expired.
