Players can't read my /FC, /Party, /Yell, or /Tell

Outside world. People can see my party chat in instances, but nothing else.

Party or Solo:
Happens all the time. Except I can use party chat in instances.

Information:
I have also called Square Enix support twice and they told me I have to talk to a GM to get my problem fixed. I didn't get in contact with a GM after putting in two different bug reports. Finally, after a week, I put in a harassment report and they finally responded to me, only to tell me they could help me with my problem and I would have to come here to find a solution. PLEASE HELP. I feel like no one can help me with my problem.

With that being said here is my issue:

I am not able to chat using /tell, /fc, /yell, or /party only thing I can do you use /say. People are not able to see what I am typing even though on my screen it looks like I am sending the message. Please Contact me or I will be forced to unsubscribe, because my game content is being serious cut.

Try hitting escape > Character Configuration > General tab and see if in Chat Mode Settings the Enable Direct Chat is filled in. If so disable that and try chatting. This worked for me.

Hey T2teddy! thanks for the response, but sadly Enable direct chat was already disabled. :(

Are you using the keyboard commands to open the proper chat mode (ALT-L for LS, ALT-S for Say, etc.) Just curious if you are somehow locked into one chat mode since you are not in direct chat or something. Just spit-balling, since I use direct chat and am not familiar with the other chat mode (keyboard and PS3 style controller on a laptop, so unfamiliar with other configurations).
