Gearing

This is going to sound stupid. Sorry! I did look it up but all I can find are 'So you've just turned level 50' but those are meant for the DoM/DoW classes.

So, basically, I got my alchemist to level 50! Woohoo! First DotH to level 50 (weeks before all the level caps rise -- such a depressing thought. LOL) Where do I go to start looking for gear for my lil' Alchemist. My retainers did bring me the Alchemist level 50 helm from the set but that's about all I know by way of gear. Is there a level 50 vendor that I can find? Besides the recipes I already know, are there any other I need to grind to get or whatever?

Any fresh 50 advice would be lovely. Thanks ya'll's! :cool:

Most of the level 50 gear you can either buy it off the market board, retainers like you said, your level 50 crafter quest should have given you something, or level up your other crafters to make it yourself. As far as I can remember there are no vendors for level 50 or higher for any class. Other than the tomes vendors and master craft/gatherer vendors in Mor Dhona. Sometimes the generosity of other players comes in and you could receive a gift.

You can obtain further recipes by crafting turn in items for master recipe books (there are 2). You can always obtain some higher level tools via these turn ins.
The npc for this, Talan is in Revenants tol.

The basic level 50 class equipment however, is crafted by various DoH. As such if you cant make it yourself you will have to either find a crafter or purchase them off the market board.

Grats on 50!! Certainly don't want to short that accomplishment : )

Right now it is difficult to say what you want to do with gear. A few questions:

What are your goals in Heavensward?

What are your goals before Heavensward?

There is a lot we don't know about Heavensward right now. It is likely you won't need more than the Patricians set and pre-star crafting gear to advance into Heavensward. It won't be easy, think making those first lvl 40 - 42 items at 38. It will be doable though. If you want to start crafting immediately you should gear up as much as you can. If you want to wait on story, or want other crafts to 50 before Heavensward, I'd focus on leveling before worrying about gear.

at this point before gearing, i think it's better to wait for exp.

This guide from the 2.1 era will show you how to meld a Patrician's set for 2 star crafting. But don't use the accessories they show, rather get and meld the iL55 accessories.
