Can't log onto 2 Characters

So I just got back into this game and I am sad to see that the game is already giving me issues. For some reason I can't log onto my new characters, I can log onto other characters and make new ones, just not the one I am currently wanting to play. I can get into the character selection part of the game and when I tell the game to start playing on one of these characters the game freezes and I get a "game not responding" and I got to shut the game down. Now if this had happened to all my characters I would give all the blame to my computer, I have already reinstalled my drivers and checked for updates but since it is only happening to two characters I believe it might be a corrupt file.

I spent all day yesterday being shipped back and forth between ingame help and the e-mail ticket system and today I went for chat support only to be told to change a number in my FFXIV.cfg file and before I had time to figure it out the person was offline. The last help was not helpful and did not work so I am turning to the forums hoping that someone can give a solution to this problem other then reinstalling the game. As said I can log onto all other characters except two of them so I can still play only not the characters I want to.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well at least I am not alone with the problem, I will put up what I have tried here and maybe it can help you even if it has done nothing to me.

• Tried renaming the relative character folders in documents > my games > ffxiv folder
• Deleted those folders.
• Deleted the whole folder in my documents.
• Open FFXIV.cfg in NotePad and change UPnP 1 to UPnP 0
• Done a ipconfig /renew in the Command Prompt
• Run any update that I can think of and reinstalled video/audio drivers.

What I really want to do is try to log onto another computer and see if I can log onto my characters there. Sadly I do not have another computer that can run the game and the only people I know who play it plays in another country so that is not an option. I guess I will just have to try and contact chat support later and hope that the person I get is better then the one I talked to yesterday and actually wait for me to confirm that the solution works before leaving the chat.
