Free Company Tags

Dear Developers,

I am writing today to ask if a slight change can be made regarding Free Company Tags. I recently ran into an issue where someone created a Free Company and used a tag that was an exact replicate of my Free Company. The issue is that people see the tag and assume they know which Free Company that person belongs to. So if someone's acting like a fool in the world, they'll associate said actions with the tag of the Free Company. My Free Company has a stellar reputation for assisting people who need it, as well as overall great people. Once I saw this new group, I kindly asked that they change their tag so that people didn't miss-associate their group with ours since we had no relations with these guys at all. He made a mention that it was indeed not against the rules and because he was able to make said tag, it was indeed allowed. I would personally like to see that changed so that people with less than admirable reputations don't bring down the respectable reputations of an established group of people.

Honestly, while this does kinda stink, I think you're being a bit high and mighty. All one has to do is a quick check to see what Free Company they actually belong to. They aren't masquerading as you, they might just have liked that tag and want to keep it.

High and mighty because we have an active set up upwards to 100 active people in the FC creating an outstanding reputation for the Company of Heroes on Ultros server? Then some brand spanking new Free Company pops out of the world and copies the exact tag (sure, it's nothing special, but the rest of the world sees only the tag initially) and it's alright? Think if it was you, and someone said your FC member was acting like a fool and giving you a bad rep, but in fact that person belonged to another FC with the same tag. Your stellar reputation starts taking hits at that point!

Op has a legitimate issue here, it's definitely not being "high and mighty". And to add insult to injury op said he asked them to change it and they refused, said group knowing full well who had it first it i'm assuming. Now, his free company's reputation is what's at stake here, he's concerned about it, which he very well should be.

I think tags should be scrapped in general and the whole fc name be placed under your name even if its made into a smaller font.

I think that if people are interested, they will check the profile. What's the said "tag" by the way?
Free companies use abreviations all the time so, making only one "CoH" (for example) when several may need it could be problematic.

It happens, i have seen another FC on Leviathan with our exact tag and looking at their established date we have been around 1 year longer then them....
I sort of like having a tag but would also support for it being removed.
What they really should do is allow FC renaming already, yaargh
